A tutor that teaches.
Not a machine that does the homework.
You should be able to see what your child is doing, and stop it, without an argument with a settings screen. Here is exactly what this service does, what it refuses to do, and what it holds about your child.
It teaches rather than answers
Ask it for the answer to a homework question and it will walk the learner through the method and then ask them a question back. The writing stays the child's. This is the single most important design decision on the service.
No advertising, no sponsors
No ads on a learner's account. No sponsored advice inside the chat. No affiliate links. Nothing is sold to your child, and their attention is not a product here.
One learner, one agent
Each learner has their own agent, with their own memory and their own history. There is no way for one learner to reach another's conversation, and no shared space where strangers can meet.
Free, with nothing hidden behind it
There is no paid tier. No “unlock more lessons”. If that ever changes we will say so plainly, on this page, before it changes.
Safety
These are not settings a parent has to find and switch on. They are built in, and they sit above the product rather than inside a prompt.
The crisis rule comes first
If a learner says anything that suggests harm — to themselves or someone else — the agent stops being a tutor immediately. It gives real helpline numbers for the country the learner is in, and tells them to speak to an adult they trust. Nothing else on this service outranks that, including the lesson the learner was in the middle of.
- No camera, no microphone capture, no location. It is text and voice notes, and a voice note is written down to be read.
- No account for a stranger. Nobody can message your child through this service.
- No pretending to be a person. The agent never claims to be human, and never arranges to meet anyone.
- It will say “I don't know”. If the books it teaches from do not cover something, it says so rather than inventing a fact to look helpful.
Privacy and consent
A learner under 18 is a child under South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act, and is treated as one.
What we hold
The phone or Telegram identifier used to sign up, the learner's grade and subjects, and the questions and answers in their own chat. We do not ask for an ID number, an address, a school report or a photo.
What we do with it
We use it to answer that learner's questions and to remember what they have struggled with, so the tutoring improves. We do not sell it, share it with advertisers, or use it to build a profile for anyone else.
Consent
Sign-up for a learner under 18 is done by a parent or guardian, who accepts the terms on the learner's behalf. A teacher enrolling a class does the same for the class.
Deletion
Ask and the account and its history are deleted. There is no retention period designed to keep a child's data once you no longer want the service.
Questions a parent should ask us
If something on this page is unclear, or you want to know exactly what your child's agent has been asked, send us a message here. A person answers, and we reply to whatever you give us below.
