IDATHA LearnA free service by IDATHA AI
Free for every learner

Stuck on a sum?
Ask your own agent.

A free AI agent for learners from Grade 1 to matric. Ask on Telegram the way you'd ask a teacher — it explains at your level, works an example, then gives you a question to try. Built on South African school books.

No cost, no card, no ads. Provided by IDATHA AI because we support free learning in Africa.

What you actually get

Not a search engine, and not something that just gives you the answer to copy. An agent that teaches you, one question at a time.

Explained at your level

Ask about fractions in Grade 2 and you get a chocolate. Ask in Grade 9 and you get the arithmetic. The same question, answered for the grade you're actually in.

Practice that marks itself

Ask for ten sums on factorising and get them back marked immediately — with the mistake named, not just a score. “You lost the sign on the second line.”

It remembers you

What you got right, what you keep getting wrong, and which topic you haven't touched in a month. Come back after two weeks and you're not starting again.

Answers from the real books

Taught from South African school textbooks, and it tells you which chapter it came from so you can go and read it yourself.

You can speak, not type

Send a voice note instead of typing. It writes down what you said and answers it — useful when your hands are full, or you're still learning to spell the word.

A revision plan

Ask what to study this week and get an order, with reasons — not a list of everything in the book.

How it works

Three steps, and you never install anything. Telegram is already on the phone.

Open Telegram

Tap the button, and the agent opens in the chat app you already use. No new password, no app store, no data-hungry website.

Say what you're stuck on

“I don't understand long division.” “Help me with Grade 10 physical sciences, Newton's laws.” Type it, or send a voice note.

Work through it

The agent explains, shows an example, then asks you a question. You answer. That loop is the whole product — it's how you actually learn.

Subjects, honestly

We would rather tell you exactly what is covered than claim everything. This is what the open South African textbooks actually cover today.

Available now

  • Mathematics · Gr 4–12
  • Mathematical Literacy
  • Physical Sciences · Gr 10–12
  • Natural Sciences
  • Life Sciences

Being added, in this order

  • Foundation phase · Gr 1–3
  • Languages
  • Geography & History
  • Accounting & Business Studies
  • isiZulu · isiXhosa · Sesotho

If a subject isn't ready, the agent says so instead of guessing. We don't pad a list to look bigger than we are.

Free. Actually free.

IDATHA Learn is provided by IDATHA AI and it is not a trial, a teaser or a lead magnet. We support education and free learning in Africa, and this is what that costs us: nothing per learner who brings their own free key, so nothing we need to charge for.

How to get your free key, step by step →

No cost to a learner

No subscription, no card, no in-app purchase, no “premium unlock”. If we ever have to charge, we will say so plainly instead of quietly moving the line.

No advertising, ever

No ads on a learner's account, no sponsors inside the chat, no adverts dressed up as advice. A child's attention is not for sale here.

Private by design

Separate account, separate memory, separate everything. We don't sell data and we don't build a profile of a child to trade.

For parents and teachers

You should be able to see what your child is doing, and stop it, without an argument with a settings screen.

  • It teaches — it does not do the homework for them. That is deliberate.
  • No advertising on a learner's account, ever.
  • Consent is asked for at sign-up, and data is kept to the minimum needed.
  • Each learner has their own agent; nobody can reach another learner's chat.
  • A crisis line sits above every other rule. If a learner says something worrying, the agent gives real numbers and stops being a tutor.

Straight answers

Is it really free? Yes. There is no paid tier hiding behind it.

Does it need data? Telegram is light. For schools with no internet at all, the same lessons can run offline.

Can it see my child? No. It is text and voice, and the voice is written down to be read — there is no camera and no tracking.

Questions people actually ask

Will it just give me the answers to my homework?

No. It explains, shows a worked example, and then asks you a question. Copying an answer teaches nothing and it will say so. If you want to check your own answer, ask it to mark your working.

What ages is it for?

Grade 1 upwards, so roughly age 6 to matric and beyond. The content is strongest from Grade 4 in mathematics and sciences, because that is what the open South African textbooks cover. Foundation phase is being added and we say so rather than pretend it is there.

Does it work on a cheap phone?

Yes — it is Telegram text. There is no app to install and no video to stream. A voice note is small; a typed question is smaller.

Which languages?

English and Afrikaans today, because that is what the open books are published in. isiZulu, isiXhosa and Sesotho are on the list, and we will not claim them before they work.

Who runs this, and why is it free?

IDATHA AI runs it, as a free service. We support education and free learning in Africa. There is no advertising and no data selling — a learner costs us almost nothing to serve, which is why we can do it.

What if my child says something that worries the agent?

The crisis rule comes before everything else on this service. If a learner says something suggesting harm, the agent stops tutoring and gives real, local helpline numbers, and encourages them to speak to an adult they trust.
